Bells, wind chimes, whale calls, birds, vibes, shamelessly synthetic string sections,
drums, and bass. You will hear all these on Yang Yang. A 50 minute multi-dream
sequence, in 9 parts. Inspite of a down-tempo rhythmic structure, the overall
feel is that of a moody "ambient" journey. The mix comes to an abrupt halt
at end of track 7, but soon continues with yet another dreamy environment, finally
ending with possibly a triumphant shaku flute, as if the dreamer has found
a doorway toward awakening. Instrumental passages imply improvised spontaneity.
Yang Yang becomes a course in lucid dreaming. |
